Our client is a local, purpose oriented, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity.  They provide community housing, support for at-risk youth, services for older Australians and disability support. They are now one of the largest organisations of their type in the region and are well respected for the support they provide, as well as their integrity and governance.  As a member of their senior leadership team, the CFO will have the opportunity to drive meaningful change for vulnerable individuals while working in a supportive and progressive environment.

About the role:

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will oversee and conduct the financial management and strategic growth of the organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a team, manage and execute business services and provide financial guidance to ensure the effective operation of the programs. In addition, you will help shape the strategic direction of the organisation, playing a key role in identifying opportunities for growth and innovation. Your responsibilities will also include:
  • Managing, conducting and being accountable for the full financial spectrum of the organisation;
  • Providing financial advice and modelling to support the CEO and senior leadership team for decision making and business planning;
  • Having a clear understanding of the Board’s direction to execute the vision;
  • Ensuring all financial activities meet audit requirements and organisational standards;
  • Providing the full suite of reports (and commentary from in-depth knowledge) to the CEO and the Board;
  • Managing elements of business services including administration, assets and ICT;
  • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure positive partnerships;
  • Interrogating the data and communicating financial insights, challenges and opportunities while providing clear and actionable recommendations; and
  • Providing input on corporate strategy and contributing to the overall direction of the organisation.
About you:

To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading and managing financial and business services. You will be committed to the values that drive the organisation including placing people first, acting with integrity and working collaboratively to achieve shared goals. CA/CPA qualification is essential along with a desire to pursue a high standard of corporate governance. If you possess excellent communication, leadership and customer relation skills and value continuous quality improvement, this role will be a perfect fit.
