About the role:

Working within the Contracts and Projects team, you will provide valuable oversight in the formulation, negotiation and effective delivery of the technical aspect of contracts. Your role will be to provide technical advice and reviews that reduce exposure to all forms of risk, by ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with customers and engineers to mediate and document contract amendments;
  • Problem solving and providing innovation to ensure both the customer and company are meeting contractual obligations;
  • Researching and reviewing standards and specifications;
  • Ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across equipment contracts, from tender to delivery;
  • Providing direct consultation on technical matters to assist with negotiations with customers;
  • Reviewing customer terms and conditions to ensure technical accuracy and compliance;
  • Contributing to the successful order acceptance process and meetings;
  • Post delivery technical liaison with customers for an ongoing technical consult; and
  • Working alongside management, engineers, legal counsel and administrators on technical matters of contracts.
About you:

To be successful in this position, you will have a strong understanding of contracts and the technical writing components involved in these arrangements. You will also possess a general knowledge of mechanical/ electrical engineering, project management and/or technical experience. You will utilise your knowledge to analyse, interpret and communicate solutions that fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with customers;
  • Disposition for high levels of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Drive and desire to achieve “best in class” quality, delivery and customer satisfaction; and
  • The capacity to mediate the best interest of both your employer and customer.
An understanding of mechanical and equipment design parameters is highly desirable. While an understanding of intermediate legal principles is ideal, it is not essential. Experience in the following areas may be highly transferable (but are not essential):
  • Project Management
  • Compliance and Risk Analysis
  • ISO Auditing
  • Process, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining, Oil & Gas and Construction Tendering
